Telecom services provider Uninor today rebranded itself as Telenor and started a campaign with a tag-line 'Ab life full paisa vasool'. The company claimed that it will offer reimbursement plans to address the menace of call drop. With this step, the company plans to establish itself as "the most affordable service provider" in the country. The call drop reimbursement offers extends to all Local, STD and ISD calls.
Telenor said that it will be investing significantly in "transforming its network and retail presence across circles." and is also planning to offer high-speed Internet services for mass-market consumers in the future.
Earlier this year the company introduced multilingual *121# self-help menu, single IVR systems to improve the customer service and launched 'Rocket Recharge' to offer customized tariff plans based on customer's usage patterns. The Norway-based Telenor had increased its stake in the Indian entity to 100% and earlier this month changed the name of the company from Telewings Communications Services to Telenor (India) Communications.
The Telecommunication group has mobile operations in 13 markets in the Nordic region, Central and Eastern Europe and in Asia. In India, their services cover six circles - Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh East and West and ranks fourth in revenue and customer market share
